ABOUT
Rosemary Zabal was born in New York City and has lived in Australia, Holland and England, traveling extensively throughout the world with her family, getting inspiration from her surroundings. After a successful career as an Art Director and Interior Designer, she now devotes her time to painting and creating mixed media pieces. One of her works, “Anima,” is a life-size mannequin, clothed in paint and collaged with pictures, objects, messages, and symbols, commemorating the “celebration of life.” Rosemary is a prolific artist who enjoys conveying happiness through her thought-provoking images, elaborate use of color, verve of brush stroke, and innocent freedom of style. Her work has been exhibited in several museums and galleries and is included in numerous private collections.
I work spontaneously from my imagination. I like my compositions to coax the viewer's sense of humor and I enjoy giving them a giggle and sense of joy. It gratifies me to be able to touch the human spirit through my vibrantly colored images. I draw inspiration from my own experiences in observing and interacting with people-from the playfulness of a child, to the animal instinct we all possess, and the need to feel loved."
